Big and popular fashion houses often produce the most boring outfits for men which doesn't give a greater standard to live up to. It has only been in the last two years that I feel like this has been challenged.
And sure LV might be putting out harnesses and Christian Siriano DID THE DAMN THING for Billy Porter, it is still difficult to pinpoint designers that specifically cater to a more feminine style of male clothing. This is where Palomo Spain has stepped up and found its home.
Founded in 2015 by designer Alejandro Gómez Palomo, the clothes are truly something out of a very gender neutral fairytale. From sheer bodysuits, 18th-century aristocrat heels, flowing palazzo pants and dresses, Palomo Spain has created something amazing.
Palomo has had some big names wear his clothes. I don't know if you're familiar with a songstress by the name of Beyoncé but she posted a photo a while ago on her Instagram announcing the birth of her twins. In it she was wearing a multicoloured high low dress while standing in front of an archway overlooking greenery and the ocean, well guess what, that dress was Palomo Spain. Rita Ora and Ariana Grande have worn his designs.
Palomo doesn't just focus on clothes, he has brought in designer Tolentino to create some of the most incredible and decadent hats and headpieces. Think Philip Treacy but better (yea, I said it).
I think the best thing about it is the confidence that one would exude in the garments. They're so striking and have so much feminine quality in them that to see someone who is male wearing them is letting you know that that person is living their best life.
The clothes are truly art and I need to see more of it on mainstream celebrities. It is for anyone and everyone and a great way to express a softer side of a harsh ultra masculine- suit-wearing world.

Their Instagram is also a piece of art, although being NSFW at times. Catch me rocking these palazzo pants when I find €400.
