Listen, I may be aeons behind everyone else when it comes to music and music videos but that will not stop me noticing good fashion when I see it. Music videos can be a great place to showcase fashion and start trends and so with this I wanted to rank my top five most fashionable music videos. I limited it to one song per artist/s. Enjoy (I don't care if you think I’m basic).
1. This Is How We Do: Katy Perry
Say what you will about Katy Perry but the styling for this video was on point. From the cube latex two-piece to the pastel three-piece (which I love) it is all just excellence. The bright colours throughout the video really tie it in altogether. If you watch the music video it’s all you'll visualize when you hear it in the outside world. |

2. Cocky: Shea Coulée, The Vixen, Lila Star
The video screams FASH EE ON. Using the simplicity of black and white throughout could've made the clothes look incredibly dull however they're styled immaculately. Especially Shea in an oversized coat with a graphic zebra print thigh high boot and slay print jumper. These gals understand fashion. |
3. Formation: Beyoncé
I mean does this one really need an explanation? |

4. I Want Your Love: Lady Gaga/Chic
The juries still out on whether this is actually a music video (by the juries still out I mean I’m still undecided). However, it is literally a fashion show in a music video. A Lady Gaga/Tom Ford/Chic/Nile Rodgers crossover. Very fashion, very dance, very good. Also, can I just that this version is 100x better than the original. |
5. Money: Cardi B
Listen, whoever is styling Cardi B is doing a damn good job at it and needs a raise. This video truly shows how fashionable Cardi can be. Her meteoric rise in the music industry is unmatched and honestly so is her fashion. Cardi, can we be fashion friends? |
